How To Setup POP Email With Your iOS Device

To setup your iPhone or iPad to your Hosting Direct POP3 email account:

1. Tap the Settings icon on your iOS device
2. Scroll down and tap on the 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars' option
3. Select 'Add Account'
4. Select 'Other', at the bottom of the account options screen
5. Select 'Add Mail Account'
6. Add in your email account details and click 'Next' on the top right corner of your screen
7. Select the 'POP' option from the top of the screen and enter your account details as follows:
Name: Your name as it should appear when sending and receiving emails
Email: Your email address
Description: A brief description of this email account (Whatever you would like to help you identify this email address in your iOS device)

-- Incoming Mail Server --

Host Name: mail.yourdomain.com (replace 'yourdomain.com' with your actual domain name)
User Name: your complete email address - youremail@yourdomain.com
Password: the password you've established for this email account, you would have established this from within your cPanel settings under 'E-Mail Accounts'

-- Outgoing Mail Server (same settings as Incoming Mail Server) --

Host Name: mail.yourdomain.com (replace 'yourdomain.com' with your actual domain name)
User Name: your complete email address -youremail@yourdomain.com
Password: thepassword you've established for this email account, you would have established this from within yourcPanel settings under 'E-Mail Accounts'

8*. If this is your first time setting up a Hosting Direct email account with your iOS device, you may encounter a pop up titled 'Cannot Connect Using SSL', tap'Yes' to confirm setup of the account without SSL.
9*. You may encounter a pop up titled 'Cannot Verify Server Identity', select 'Details' to view the information, and in the upper right hand corner, select 'Accept' to trust the server.
10. Your email account should now be setup and your emails should start coming in!

**If you are still having difficulties getting emails on your iOS device:

1. Go back in to your email settings as outlined above and select the account associated with your Hosting Direct hosting account
2. Tap 'Advanced'
3. Under Incoming Settings -
Change use SSL to 'OFF'
Change Server Port to 110

4. Tap your email address at the top left of the screen to go back to the previous screen
5. Under Outgoing Mail Server -
Tap your mail server (mail.yourdomain.com)
Change Server Port to 587
